Tulsa, OK - Tulsa police have released dash cam footage of an officer-involved collision that occurred last Tuesday.
The video, released on Thursday, shows the moment of impact when another vehicle turns left
into the patrol vehicle, which has its lights and sirens engaged as it makes its way down North Lewis Avenue.A camera-in-camera feature on the video shows the front impact as well as the passenger-side impact from the inside. The police SUV spun and took out a utility pole in the
collision. Part of the pole crashed down on the SUV, breaking the glass out of the vehicle.
The officer's first words after the crash were him calling out to his K9 partner to make sure he was OK.
Neither the officer nor his K9 partner were injured. The K9 ran from the vehicle when it crashed, but the officer was able to locate him.
Police provided the of footage, but as the vehicles crash and glass flies, the screen goes red, then blurry from the damage. Sound remains intact.
