Police have confirmed that one man is dead after a Tulsa Police officer hit him with his car around 1 a.m. at 61st and Lewis.
According to officials, the officer involved in the collision will not be placed on administrative leave since they report that the investigation has not shown any improper action by the officer prior to the collision.
Police identified the pedestrian as 43-year-old James Moore of Tulsa.
According to police, Moore walked out in front of the car and the officer driving didn't see him.
Investigators say Moore was leaving a bar close to the scene of the accident. The road is now open after being closed for a few hours.
The traffic unit will determine the driving conditions and whether the officer was speeding. Those results will eventually be handed over to the District Attorney's office.

Deputy who killed man after mistaking gun for Taser is an insurance exec who pays to play cop
Tulsa County Sheriff's deputy who fatally shot and killed a man last week when he thought he had pulled his Taser, is part of a group of wealthy donors who make large contributions to the department for the privilege of playing police officer.
According to Tulsa World , Robert Bates, 73, who made the fatal mistake that cost a man his life, is a local insurance company executive who has donated multiple vehicles, weapons, and stun guns to the Sheriff's Office since becoming a reserve deputy in 2008.
Bates is responsible for the death of Eric Harris, when he attempted to assist in the arrest of Harris as he struggled on the ground with Tulsa sheriff's deputies. Bates shot Harris with his service weapon believing he had pulled his Taser.
In video released Friday , Bates can be heard apologizing, saying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," as police handcuffed Harris before he was taken to a local hospital where he died from his gunshot wound.
According to Maj. Shannon Clark, Bates is a highly regarded member of the Reserve Deputy Program who was assisting the Sheriff's Office's Violent Crimes Task Force when Harris was shot.
Clark stated that Bates is one of many wealthy donors among the agency's 130 reserve deputies, saying, "There are lots of wealthy people in the reserve program. Many of them make donations of items. That's not unusual at all."

Oklahoma deputy charged in suspect's shooting death

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEhhcgFf5RQ
TULSA, Okla. - Prosecutors charged a reserve sheriff's deputy with manslaughter Monday in the death of a man who was fatally shot as he lay on the ground at the officer's feet.
Tulsa County prosecutors filed a second-degree manslaughter charge against 73-year-old Robert Bates
A police investigator has said Bates, who is white, thought he drew a stun gun, not his handgun, when he fired at 44-year-old Eric Harris, who was black, in the April 2 incident.
Bates is charged with second-degree manslaughter "involving culpable negligence," Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler said in a statement.
Oklahoma law defines culpable negligence as "the omission to do something which a reasonably careful person would do, or the lack of the usual ordinary care and caution in the performance of an act usually and ordinarily exercised by a person under similar circumstances and conditions," Kunzweiler said.
A video of the incident shot by deputies with sunglass cameras and released Friday at the request of the victim's family, shows a deputy chase and tackle Harris, whom they said tried to sell an illegal gun to an undercover officer.
As the deputy subdues Harris on the ground, a gunshot rings out and a man says: "Oh, I shot him. I'm sorry."
Harris was treated by medics at the scene and died in a Tulsa hospital.

Animated Reenactment of Fatal Oklahoma Police Shooting Released
Tokyo animation studio, Next Media Animation released another digitally reconstructed version of a fatal shooting in the US. This video recreates leaked video footage recorded by a bystander at the time of the event.
The victim of the shooting, Eric Harris, 44, is alleged to have tried to sell an illegal handgun to an undercover police officer on April 2.Harris is reported to have fled the exchange upon the arrival of uniformed police officers. He was chased by police, caught and pinned to the ground. As police officers were attempting to handcuff Harris on the pavement, Robert Bates, a 73-year-old reserve deputy, arrived to assist them. One of the officers called for a taser.
Bates reached for his taser but mistakenly fired his gun instead, shooting Harris. Bates is heard immediately apologizing after realizing his mistake. After the shooting, officers continued to pin Harris down. He died at a local hospital an hour later. Bates has since been charged with second-degree manslaughter.

Police Release Graphic Video of Tulsa Man Killed by Cop
UPDATE TO STORY: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=3a0_1428891056
Eric Harris died last week after Reserve Deputy Robert Bates, 73, mistakenly grabbed his service weapon - believing it was his Taser - and shot him as he attempted to assist with an arrest.
In the video released by police, a body-cam captures an officer in a foot pursuit of Harris who is subsequently tackled in the street. As the officer instructs Harris to roll onto his stomach, a gun shot is heard.
Officer Bates can be heard, saying, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry," as Harris yells, "He shot me!' while another officer is heard saying, "You f*cking ran." Other officers continue the verbal abuse to Harris as he lays on the ground losing his last breaths.
The white blocks have been inserted by police as part of the released video.

Reserve officer faces 4 years in prison after Eric Harris shooting
Oklahoma prosecutors have charged reserve deputy Robert Bates with second-degree manslaughter. If convicted, he could face up to four years in prison.
Hidden camera footage released by the Tulsa Sheriff's Department shows the undercover operation that lead to the fatal shooting of Eric Harris.
It shows Harris, a 44-year-old black man, looking nervous as he appears to sell a gun to a plain-clothes officer during the police sting.
When Harris spotted an undercover car pulling up, he fled the scene.
Moments later he was shot by reserve deputy Robert Bates who grabbed his handgun rather than his brightly-coloured and lethal taser, despite other deputies appearing to have full control of Harris who was lying face-down on the ground.
In the video, a man Oklahoma authorities identified as Bates is heard saying, "oh, I shot him. I'm sorry."
Harris is then heard shouting, "he shot me," followed by "I'm losing my breath."
An unidentified voice is heard saying "f**k your breath.""F-- YOUR BREATH" angry cop yells as #EricHarris lies dying from gunshot, "SHUT THE F-- UP!" http://t.co/lBwN7RJYVd pic.twitter.com/wDcPnmd2DZ- Anonymous (@occupythemob) April 12, 2015
Harris's brother said the shooting was unnecessary.
"He didn't have to," said Andre Harris. "This is something that either he didn't just really think about, or he just decided that he wanted to shoot and he would worry about it later."
Robert Bates, a 73-year-old insurance executive, volunteered as a deputy in his spare time.
Critics say he should have known the difference between his two weapons.
Oklahoma's Tulsa County Sheriff's Department said the shooting was an accident.
"Mr Harris fled. He disobeyed the orders of law enforcement," explained spokesman Major Shannon T. Clark. "He attempted to flee from capture. And when he was attempting to be subdued and still in a ground combat with deputies, this Deputy Bates approached, and he attempted to use a less lethal device, Inadvertently he used his handgun instead."
Last week, a white South Carolina officer was arrested and charged with murder after a video showed him fatally shooting an unarmed black man in the back.
The shooting was reminiscent of other police killings over the past year in cities including New York; Ferguson, Missouri; and Cleveland, Ohio, rekindling outrage over excessive use of police force against black men.
